La revolución ahora. La salud pública más allá del capitalismo / Revolution now. Public health beyond capitalism

Resumen

El pensamiento crítico en el ámbito de la salud pública está bien vivo, al menos si se observan las cifras y el contenido de la última conferencia de la Asociación Internacional de Políticas de Salud en Europa (IAHPE). Esta organización científica reúne a numerosos científicos y académicos de renombre que comparten un punto de partida que se puede plasmar en el lema "el capitalismo es malo para nuestra salud". Fundada en 1977 como Asociación Internacional de Política Sanitaria (IAHP), la rama europea - "hermana" de la Asociación Latinoamericana de Medicina Social (ALAMES)- celebra conferencias internacionales cada dos o tres años. La última -la número 18 en la historia de la asociación- tuvo lugar del 21 al 24 de septiembre en Tesalónica (Grecia), organizada por la Universidad Aristóteles de Tesalónica en colaboración con la Universidad Queen Mary de Londres. The scientific organisation gathers a number of well known scientists and academics sharing a starting point that can be captured in the slogan "capitalism is bad for our health". Founded in 1977 as the International Association of Health Policy (IAHP), the European branch - 'sister' to the Latin American Association of Social Medicine (ALAMES) - holds international conferences every two or three years. The last one - number 18 in the history of the association - took place from the 21st to the 24th of September in Thessaloniki, Greece, organised by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in collaboration with the Queen Mary University of London.
